A walk in Old Havana was a dream come true. Being a child of the 50’s and 60’s, I remember the Revolution and watched as Cuba grew into the 21st century.
Our guide, Judy from Cuban Landscape Tours started our day with a walking tour of Old Havana. Restored neighborhoods were filled with 500 year old landmarks, historic architecture, apartment buildings and visual street scenes.
We traveled in old American cars, visited the Cigar Factory, and ate a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, Dona Carmela.
The Cuban people shared with me moments of how life can be lived well. Their resourcefulness, grace and dignity revealed the spirit of Cuba with their art, food, music and culture.
